About the Event

This is the second year for the Clarksville Chalk Walk Festival, which was designed to encourage and promote the arts in our community.  The idea for the event originally came from a partnership between the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department, and Arts Bridge, Inc. of SE Indiana.

In 2014, dozens of amateur artists turned the Clarksville Town Hall parking lot into an outdoor chalk art exhibit.  This year, we are moving the event to the Clarksville Community Center.  We are hoping for an even bigger turnout for the second year of the Clarksville Chalk Walk Festival!

Special thanks to the News and Tribune for signing on to be the exclusive media sponsor of the Clarksville Chalk Walk for the 2nd year in a row.

Without their support, this event would not be possible.

The Deadline to Register is May 27, 2015

Food and Entertainment

The Chalk Walk Festival would not be complete without some great family entertainment.  We are hoping to make this year's festivities even bigger this year with more fun activities for everyone in the family.  We will again have a rock climbing wall, laser tag, mobile video game theater, chalk area for the little ones, and more!  The best part is, all the activities are FREE!

If you get hungry during your visit, we will have you covered with delicious food and drinks from some wonderful local vendors.  As we get closer to the event, we will post more about our festival food options.

Plenty of restroom facilities will also be available.  Parking for the event is conveniently located just a short walk away at the Clarksville Town Hall.

Supporting the Arts

As we mentioned above, the goal of this event is to promote the arts in our community.  As part of that mission, we are inviting local art related non-profits to set up a FREE booth at the Clarksville Chalk Walk.  This is a great opportunity to spread the word about your group, gain new members, and to share updates on the services you have to offer residents in our community.

Local arts related businesses are also welcome to attend and set up a booth, but no sales are permitted at this event.  This is simply a chance to hand out promotional items, and market your business.  For details about setting up a booth, please contact Marketing & Programming Coordinator Ken Conklin at 812-283-5313 or email him at kconklin@clarksvilleparks.com.

Local weather reports show a risk for rain/storms tonight and tomorrow during our scheduled Chalk Walk.  If rain forces us to cancel this event, we will post a message on our Facebook and Twitter pages by 8:00am on Saturday, May 30.  Thank-you for your patience and understanding.
