Summer explorers

summer explorers program

The 2021 Summer Explorers Program WILL proceed with COVID Restrictions.  Please read the below information carefully.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

This program will keep kids ages 7-12 active and entertained during the summer months. We will meet at our parks four days a week for sports, arts & crafts, games, and more!  See below for our tentative schedule, program rules, program leaders' bios, and important parent info.  Space is limited as we will only be accepting 60 children into the program this year due to COVD restrictions.  Registration opens to Clarksville residents first.  If the program does not fill up, registration will then open for non-residents.

The fee is $30 per child for the summer, and includes a free Clarksville Parks t-shirt.

2021 Registration Opens

Clarksville Residents: Monday, April 12

Non-Clarksville Residents: Monday, April 26th  (If space is still available)

Quick Facts:

  • This program is open to kids ages 7-12 only. No exceptions.
  • The 2021 program runs Monday-Thursday from June 1, 2021 through July 1, 2021. (5 weeks)
  • Program locations vary based on the day, and transportation is not provided.
  • Registration will be open until May 24th, or until all spots are filled.
  • Lunch will be provided daily at no charge thanks to a partnership with Aramark and Greater Clark County Schools.

RULES AND OTHER NOTES FOR PARENTS

  • The 2021 season will look a little different with many COVID related rules and procedures in place to protect our participants and staff.  Parents will receive more information after registration.
  • All 7-year-old participants will need to bring a copy of their birth certificate on the first day of Summer Explorers for age verification.
  • All activities/times/locations are subject to change.  Parents will be notified by email when a change is made, so make sure we have your correct email address.
  • Any child who is dropped off/picked up late more than twice, will not be allowed to attend further Summer Explorer events.  Parents must arrive within 10 minutes of the scheduled end time.
  • Children MUST be dropped off on time.  If a child arrives more than 10 minutes past the program start time, they will be unable to attend that day.
  • Children must attend at least two days each week, in order to be able to join us at Clarksville Cove on Thursdays.
  • Children are required to bring a water bottle each day.
  • We strive to provide a fun and safe environment for our children.  To accomplish this, we have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to fighting, foul language, or any other inappropriate behavior. The Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department reserves the right to remove any child from the program for behavioral problems.
  • No refunds will be given if a child is removed from the program for violation of our rules.
