Laughter Yoga, founded by Madan Kataria, M.D. in India in 1995, is a type of exercise which is based on the premise that the body does not differentiate between genuine and simulated laughter. Laughter sustained for 15-20 minutes provides many health and emotional benefits BUT, in order to laugh that length of time, a leader providing one exercise after another is needed. We will do exercises to help you learn to laugh to music and end with a relaxation period. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and bring a yoga mat or a blanket if you would like to lie down.
